The following are some our most frequently asked questions....

  F A Q s

Question:

What can be done about the Fukushima Japan nuclear reactor problems and any radiation that may appear in my drinking water?

Answer:

First off, it is useful to know the MCL (maximum contaminant level) for beta particles in water.The EPA sets this at 4 millirems per year. If your water exceeds levels that could cause you harm, the EPA lists that the following treatment method(s) have proven to be effective in removing radionuclides at levels below regulated level.

* Beta particle and Photon Radiation: ion exchange and reverse osmosis;

* (Gross) Alpha Emitters: reverse osmosis;

* Radium 226 and Radium 228 (combined): ion exchange, reverse osmosis, lime softening;

* Uranium: Ion exchange, reverse osmosis, limes softening, coagulation/filtration.

Question:
What else is in our drinking water, besides water?

Question:
What are total dissolved solids(TDS)?

Answer:

Total Dissolved Solids Show Up In Drinking Water In Many Forms. Some Are Harmless Minerals And Salts But Some Are Foreign Pathogens And Unnatural Chemicals To Our Bodies. Dissolved Solids Simply Translates To "Stuff In My Water".

This Foreign (Solid) Particulate Matter Is Measured In Parts-Per Million

* To measure just one part-per-million (PPM), it is similar to:

* .... one inch in 16 miles

* .... one minute in two years

* .... one cent in $10,000

Reverse Osmosis removes 90-95% of all dissolved solids in your drinking water.

Question:
Who says that my house and or office water has all these "things" in it?

Answer:

The Unied States Environmental Protection Agency, as one source, supplies this list of potential contaminants... and how much of it they think is safe for you to drink!!!

Question:
Does my Reverse Osmosis system remove any these potentially harmful contaminants?

Answer: Click Here

Question:
What is the built-in green light (TDS meter) on my Hydrotech R/O unit mean?

Answer:

The test light will return yellow when it is time to change the R/O Membrane (3-4 Years).

Even when the test light runs green it is important to remember that the pre-carbon, sediment and post polishing filters stiil need servic every year, in order to reduce build-up of bacteria within the system itself.
